Thermal tests: It has been well known from an early stage in the developmentof polymeric materials that factors like heat, sunlight oxygen in the air and humidity in general accelerates the degradation of rubber.Normally there is little time available to wait for a test to be
concluded under real conditions. Accelerated ageing is thereforeused instead. In all ageing processes it is especially important to maintain constant temperature and in certain cases a constant relative humidity in the air. Another important factor is the flow of air around the test pieces, so that the oxygen concentration is remained at a constant level.
TR-tester, ET 01 II, for the determination of low temperature characteristics by the temperature retraction procedure according to ISO 2921 and ASTM D1329. The Elastocon TR-tester is computerized and performs the test automatically after the cooling media has been cooled and the samples has been mounted. An automatic release of the samples, after the precooling period, is included. |
Gehman-tester, ET 02 II for determination of the relative stiffness characteristics of vulcanized orthermoplastic rubbers, also called the Gehman procedure. The test is done according to ISO 1432, ASTM D1053 method A, or technical equivalent standards. | |
ET 05 II Brittleness tester Brittleness test according to ISO 812, ISO 974, ASTM D744 and ASTM D2137. These methods determine the lowest temperature at which rubber materials do not exhibit brittle failure when impacted under specified conditions. |
The TR-Tester, Gehman Tester and Brittleness Tester are composed of 6 stations and operate from -80°C to +20°C. They can be combined using the same base unit and a rig changing system. |
By using our compression rig you can now perform low temperature compression set without opening the deep freezer and without touching the test piece. Uncertain result due to temperature influence are no longer a problem. |

Ovens EB 01 II or EB 19 or EB 20 are composed of 4 or 6 cells containing up to 24 samples each, operating from +40°C up to +200°C or +300°C for HT version. They meet requirements of ISO 188 method A, IEC 60811-1-2 and IEC 60216-4-3. Relaxation equipment EB 18 II3 for continous measurement in both compression and tension meets requirements of ISO 188 method A, ISO 899, ISO 3384-1 method A and ISO 6914. It is equipped with draught hood, to eliminate variations in force measurement due to temperature and air effects. |
Fogging Tester, EB 03 Equipment for determination of windscreen fogging according to ISO 6452, SAE J1756, DIN, VOLVO and SAAB and other automotive standards. The equipment has a compact design with the heating bath and cooling bath integrated in one casing |
Resistivity Tester EE 01 III For determination of volume resistivity according to ISO 1853 EE 01 consists of a differential voltmeter with high input resistance, > 0,1 T Ohm and an amperemeter for very low currents. The voltmeter is integrated with the electrodes to reduce disturbances. |
